Job description
Position Overview
A full-time Plant Manager opportunity located in Thika, Nairobi, overseeing plant operations with a monthly gross salary ranging from KES 400,000 to 500,000, including benefits such as air tickets and accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs tailored for all plant machinery.
- Design machine-specific maintenance calendars and ensure all maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
- Ensure production machinery availability and dependability to maintain smooth manufacturing processes.
- Monitor equipment performance metrics and lead initiatives to enhance reliability throughout the plant.
- Investigate machine failures and breakdowns through root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
- Track performance indicators including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and seek continuous improvement.
- Manage utilities effectively to support plant operations.
- Oversee spare parts procurement and inventory management to avoid delays in maintenance.
- Manage engineering projects and related capital expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental regulations, and other regulatory standards.
- Drive continuous operational improvements using methodologies such as TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven hands-on experience working with beverage manufacturing equipment.
- Comprehensive understanding of maintenance strategies including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Expertise in managing utilities related to manufacturing operations.
- Strong mechanical and electrical systems knowledge.
- Familiarity with SAP maintenance modules for managing maintenance activities.
- Excellent troubleshooting capabilities coupled with root cause analysis expertise.
- Working knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing techniques, and 5S organizational systems.
- Skill in interpreting mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
