Role Summary

The Planning Manager reports directly to the Project Controls Manager and holds responsibility for program-level planning and scheduling activities. This position demands expertise in schedule integration, advanced schedule problem-solving, and the capability to analyze and present schedule impact insights within fixed-price contractual frameworks. The Planning Manager oversees planning teams and manages assigned personnel, ensuring adherence to project procedures, tool usage, and system training requirements. Additionally, the role entails offering guidance to subcontractors as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, development, and maintenance of program-level schedules and monitor their progress.
• Develop, interpret, and enforce policies and standards governing schedule maintenance and methodology.
• Supervise execution of milestone tracking, engineering, procurement, construction closeout monitoring, and related documentation and maintenance.
• Manage preparation of specialized schedules when required, including those for consortium and subcontractor activities.
• Oversee contract notice protocols and reporting mandates.
• Direct thorough schedule analyses and proactive resolution of scheduling challenges.
• Formulate and clarify guidelines related to schedule analysis functions.
• Supervise schedule reporting and provide support for presenting scheduling information effectively.
• Coordinate interfaces within the joint venture and with consortium partners, including control of scope changes, risk assessment, and consortium reporting.
• Advise the project director on overall schedule impacts and recommend practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 20 years of professional experience in project controls with a strong focus on cost management and project estimating.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Proven track record in developing and evaluating comprehensive schedules for significant infrastructure programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively presenting planning and scheduling data to management and clients.
• Strong analytical abilities to identify, investigate, and solve challenges with up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technical developments.
• Deep understanding of engineering and construction management principles acquired through formal education and extensive practical experience.

Additional Information

• Work is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with relocation assistance provided internationally for single moves.
• This is a full-time, onsite role requiring presence at the office/project location.
