We are currently seeking a seasoned Planning Engineer to join our team in Riyadh Region to support the successful delivery of large-scale Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), and District Cooling Plant (DCP) projects. This role demands comprehensive project schedule management throughout all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient execution. The selected candidate will closely cooperate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to provide precise planning, progress tracking, reporting, schedule evaluation, and project control.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and sustain detailed project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
  • Develop baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestone plans, and project execution strategies.
  • Design integrated schedules encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Define task sequences, dependencies, and critical path networks within project timelines.
  • Formulate recovery and acceleration schedules when necessary.
  • Continuously monitor project progress relative to approved baseline schedules.
  • Conduct schedule performance analysis to detect delays and risks.
  • Undertake critical path analysis and suggest remedial measures.
  • Track productivity metrics, resource allocation, and progress milestones.
  • Predict project completion dates while ensuring milestone adherence.
  • Compile weekly and monthly progress reports for stakeholders and clients.
  • Create visual tracking tools such as S-curves, manpower histograms, resource utilization summaries, and dashboards.
  • Provide schedule updates, forecast reports, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist management during progress presentations and planning reviews.
  • Identify scheduling risks and formulate mitigating interventions.
  • Conduct impact assessments for changes in scope or project variations.
  • Support delay analysis and prepare Extension of Time (EOT) documentation.
  • Perform hypothetical scenario modeling and recovery strategy planning.
  • Engage in project risk assessment and planning forums.
  • Coordinate efforts with project control and cost departments to synchronize scheduling and budgeting goals.
  • Support activities related to progress measurement and cash flow forecasting.
  • Assess how alterations and scope changes affect schedules.
  • Contribute to monitoring project performance via KPI reporting and analysis.
  • Maintain communication channels with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in project progress meetings and schedule reviews.
  • Ensure prompt communication regarding schedule risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
  • Aid project management in fulfilling contract milestones and overall objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or closely related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in planning, scheduling, and project control roles.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within the GCC or Middle East region.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience specific to STP, WWTP, District Cooling Plant, or similar large-scale utility infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated capability in EPC and infrastructure project environments.

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6 is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and advanced Excel skills.
  • Competence in applying Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), resource loading techniques, and schedule risk analysis.
  • Hands-on experience in delay analysis, claims support, project controls, and generating performance reports.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and Primavera Risk Analysis tools is advantageous.
