Planning Engineer – Turbomachinery

Position Overview

We are seeking a Planning Engineer specialized in turbomachinery to oversee scheduling and progress tracking of workshop and field-service operations. This role involves optimizing manpower, machinery, tools, and other resources to achieve project deadlines efficiently.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in planning, preferably within turbomachinery, rotating equipment, oil & gas, or power generation sectors.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project for schedule creation and monitoring.
• Experience coordinating both workshop and field-service planning is desirable.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment is considered an advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong coordination and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain master schedules for workshop and site-based projects.
• Develop detailed project timelines and look-ahead plans using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Plan the deployment of manpower, machinery, tools, equipment, and other resources required for workshop and field activities.
• Coordinate workflows within the workshop, including inspection, machining, welding, NDT, heat treatment, coating, balancing, and assembly processes.
• Organize field service activities such as inspections, overhauls, shutdowns, breakdown response, and commissioning assistance.
• Track progress against plans, detect delays, manage resource conflicts, and highlight critical path tasks.
• Formulate recovery actions as needed and prioritize among simultaneous projects.
• Lead regular planning sessions involving Operations, Projects, Workshop, Engineering, Quality Control, and Procurement teams.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly progress updates, resource allocation plans, and management reports.
