Job description
Overview
A well-established construction company located in Killarney, County Kerry, is looking for an experienced Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator to become a vital part of their finance department. This permanent, office-based role involves handling payroll processing and supporting accounts payable duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute weekly and monthly payroll processing for permanent and contract staff.
- Manage elements such as timesheets, overtime, bonuses, deductions, pensions, and compliance with statutory payments.
- Ensure adherence to Revenue guidelines and employment regulations related to payroll.
- Maintain confidential and accurate payroll records for employees.
- Generate payroll reports and assist during auditing processes.
- Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements to maintain accuracy.
- Prepare payment runs and keep updated creditor ledgers.
- Address discrepancies and queries raised by suppliers regarding invoices.
- Provide support for general finance tasks and month-end closing activities as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience in payroll administration and accounts payable functions.
- A qualification as an Accounting Technician or an equivalent certification in payroll is mandatory.
- Proficient with payroll software systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of Revenue requirements and payroll compliance regulations.
- Experience within the construction or engineering sectors is highly advantageous.
Compensation
The expected salary range is between €40,000 and €45,000 annually.
Work Location
This role is based on-site in the company's office in Killarney, County Kerry.
