Job description
Position Overview
An established Irish modular construction firm focused on commercial and residential developments is seeking a Design Co-ordinator to join their team based in County Meath. This full-time, permanent role involves overseeing the management and flow of technical and design documentation across various projects from the pre-construction phase through to completion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle Letters of Intent (LOI) and technical submissions by collecting essential pre-contract documents, detailed construction data, test reports, and materials specifications.
- Coordinate fire safety, civil engineering, and assorted design contributions from external consultants effectively.
- Serve as the primary communication link daily among architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, draughtspersons, and on-site teams, ensuring the smooth and timely distribution of design-related information.
- Collaborate closely with the in-house draughtsperson on active projects, including monitoring consultant progress via weekly meetings and schedule tracking.
- Distribute design documentation to subcontractors and site teams; gather technical submittals for review and coordination purposes.
- Manage project close-out activities such as BCAR documentation, certificates, subcontractor and consultant paperwork, and Safety Files, delivering all finalized documentation to the Assigned Certifier.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of relevant educational credentials such as Construction Management, Building Surveying, Architectural Technology, or Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating with external consultants, including following up, tracking, and advancing inputs from architects, engineers, or specialized consultants rather than generating design outputs directly.
- Experience working within structured document-control systems and procedures.
- Proven aptitude for managing timelines and keeping multiple stakeholders on track without having direct supervisory authority.
- Knowledge of the BCAR (Building Control Amendment Regulations) process and familiarity with the Assigned Certifier role is highly desirable.
- Experience in assembling and maintaining project safety files is strongly preferred.
- Must hold a full, clean driving license.
