Pavement Engineer

About the Role

Join Arup's Queensland Infrastructure team in Brisbane as a Pavement Engineer, contributing to the analysis, design, and delivery of innovative pavement solutions for a variety of transport and infrastructure projects across Queensland and Australasia. You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting with civil, geotechnical, drainage, structural, transport planning, construction, and asset management experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, assess, and perform rehabilitation analyses of pavements for medium to large infrastructure projects.
• Organise pavement field investigations, liaise with subcontractors, and interpret laboratory and investigation data.
• Prepare clear technical documentation including design calculations, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Manage assigned work packages encompassing scheduling, budgeting, quality, and technical risk, as well as contribute to proposals and client relations.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to graduate and junior engineers through review, coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a recognized degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility for Chartered status through Engineers Australia or a similar professional institution.
• Preferably completed or pursuing advanced qualifications in Pavement Engineering, such as a Master's degree.
• Bring at least five years of experience in pavement design and construction, particularly for medium to large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
• Experienced in planning, supervising, and interpreting pavement investigations.
• Skilled in pavement design programs such as CIRCLY, Rubicon, ELMOD, or FAARFIELD.
• Exhibit strong communication, organisational skills, commercial awareness, and an ability to build and maintain client relationships.
