Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to apply paint, stain, and various finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture within our Fort Lauderdale location. This role involves using brushes, spray guns, or rollers to coat surfaces, preparing new areas with primers or sealers, and removing old finishes through sanding, stripping, or abrasive methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply different finishes to property surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Prepare surfaces with primers or sealers to ensure proper adhesion of topcoats.
- Remove existing finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, heat application, or abrasive blasting.
- Protect surrounding areas during painting by covering surfaces and posting paint warning signs.
- Clean and properly store painting equipment and supplies post-use.
- Collaborate with vendors to adjust colors of paint, stain, or varnish as needed.
- Follow all company policies related to safety and security, report hazards or incidents, and complete required safety training.
- Maintain a professional and clean personal appearance and safeguard company property and proprietary information.
- Provide courteous guest service by greeting visitors warmly, anticipating needs, assisting those with disabilities, and engaging professionally.
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve common objectives.
- Comply with quality standards and expectations during all tasks.
- Perform physical activities including reaching overhead and below knees, climbing ladders, grasping, lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, bending, twisting, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a technical, trade, or vocational school program related to painting or finishing.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a related painting or finishing role.
- No supervisory responsibility is expected for this position.
- No specific certifications or licenses are required.
