Overnight Lead Department Manager

Position Overview

Serving as an Overnight Lead Department Manager provides a valuable leadership opportunity within Walmart Canada's fast-moving retail environment. In this role, you will guide and assist the overnight team, embodying Walmart’s core values while ensuring shelves are appropriately stocked, displays are effectively organized, and the store presents well for customers at the start of each day. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate overnight stocking tasks aligned with priorities set by the Overnight Assistant Manager and daytime management.
• Evaluate merchandise presentation and store condition; identify any issues and implement merchandising updates to maintain company standards.
• Manage identification and proper transfer of damaged or defective products to the claims room as per established processes.
• Take charge of store safety and security during the overnight shift when the Overnight Assistant Manager is absent, including handling incidents following company protocols.
• Conduct inspections of designated store areas to confirm security and compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist in training and developing overnight associates to enhance productivity and achievement of stocking and operational targets.
• Exhibit flexibility by working varied shifts such as evenings, weekends, and holidays, adapting to business requirements to ensure consistent quality service.

Work Challenges

• Efficiently manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment, planning shifts to maintain focus and energy.
• Perform physical duties including prolonged standing, bending, and lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive activities such as stocking and zoning, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $20.85.
