OutSystems Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a dedicated OutSystems Developer to join our team and lead digital transformation initiatives for enterprise and government clients. In this capacity, you will be accountable for designing and delivering innovative applications on the OutSystems platform, ensuring they meet standards for scalability, performance, and security. You will work closely with business teams and analysts to convert requirements into practical solutions, integrate with external systems, and continually refine the platform to maximize business benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders and analysts to thoroughly understand project requirements and deliver efficient technical solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain applications leveraging the OutSystems platform.
• Employ technologies such as .NET, SQL, and JavaScript to craft stable and scalable applications.
• Create integrations with external systems using REST APIs, SOAP services, and middleware.
• Monitor and evaluate platform performance, proactively addressing enhancement opportunities.
• Provide end-user support by delivering training, creating documentation, and resolving technical queries, acting as the primary technical contact for projects.
• Manage issue resolution ensuring timely adherence to SLAs, including comprehensive troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Maintain application quality by following OutSystems best practices and clients' security policies.
• Contribute to code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile development activities.
• Prepare and present statistical reports in client progress meetings held weekly and monthly.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in OutSystems, low-code methodologies, and emerging technologies.

Candidate Requirements

• Holds at least a Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• Possesses over 3 years' experience in software development specifically with OutSystems, including familiarity with OutSystems 11 and OutSystems Development Center (ODC).
• Skilled in using OutSystems Service Studio, Integration Studio, Lifetime, ODC Studio, and ODC Portal.
• Certified as either an OutSystems Associate Developer or a Traditional Web Developer.
• Has a solid understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
• Good knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and RESTful APIs.
• Comfortable with relational databases, SQL, and database design fundamentals.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills enabling design of scalable solutions from complex requirements.
• Highly motivated team player with strong communication skills, capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Customer-focused with confidence engaging clients and vendors directly and performing effectively under pressure.
• Experience in supporting end-user training, adoption initiatives, and platform governance.
• Familiar with OutSystems application security including user roles and permission models.

Certifications

• Mandatory: OutSystems Associate Developer or Associate Traditional Web Developer certification.
• Preferred: Advanced certifications such as Tech Lead, Architecture Specialist, or other specialist credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within public sector or compliance-regulated environments.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Knowledge of .NET programming language.
• Familiarity with databases like SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Previous leadership or senior development experience overseeing complex software projects.
• Expertise in system integration and migration.
• Understanding of workflow automation tools and integration hubs; experience with RPA technologies like UiPath or Automation Anywhere is advantageous.
