About the Role
Join Sandvik Mining as an Operations Field Support Representative based in Greymouth, New Zealand. This role involves hands-on daily support and management of drilling consumables within the Sandvik Rock Tools Contract team, primarily at various underground mine sites. You will engage directly with customers and contribute to the smooth and safe operation of Rock Tools activities, adhering to all site procedures, contract requirements, and company standards. Comprehensive training is provided for all aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage and oversee inventory levels on site.
- Plan and ensure timely delivery of consumables to underground drilling equipment.
- Handle receipt, storage, and organization of goods delivered to the site.
- Gather and accurately report data relating to consumables’ usage, performance, condition, and failures using the Sandvik Track and Report system.
- Maintain positive interactions with mining operators and stakeholders.
- Comply with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, including conducting risk assessments, participating in site safety meetings, daily checklists, and monthly inspections.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a valid manual C Class Driver's Licence is required.
- Forklift licence is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to pass police clearances and drug & alcohol screenings.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills in English.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Adaptability, resilience, and a high regard for safety protocols.
- Physical fitness sufficient to lift up to 45 kilograms.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with prior underground mining experience, familiarity with heavy equipment, or existing site inductions will be preferred. Knowledge about on-site service contracts or Sandvik drilling tools is beneficial but not required. Entry-level applicants are welcome as extensive training will be provided.
Additional Information
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts.
- Location preference: Candidates residing in or near Greymouth on the West Coast.

- Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical examination.
