Position Overview
Sandvik is seeking a diligent and motivated Production Planner to join our dynamic team at our Kalgoorlie workshop in Western Australia. This full-time, permanent role involves coordinating the production schedule to ensure smooth and efficient operations within a bustling workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed production plans and schedules to manage workshop activities effectively.
- Monitor ongoing jobs and coordinate resource allocation to optimize workflows.
- Ensure the timely procurement of required materials and manage contractor engagements.
- Maintain precise records alongside visual management tools to track progress and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts to increase operational efficiency and productivity.
- Contribute actively to fostering a robust safety culture and ensuring adherence to organisational compliance standards.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in roles related to workshop scheduling, production planning, or coordination.
- A solid grasp of maintenance procedures and inventory control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and familiarity with planning software.
- Excellent communication skills paired with effective time management capabilities.
- A proactive approach with strong customer service orientation.
- Possession of relevant trade or engineering qualifications.
- Experience working with Maximo or similar ERP systems is desirable.
- Exposure to underground mining equipment and workshop operations is advantageous.
Work Environment and Additional Information
This role is predominantly office-based but requires hands-on interaction with workshop operations, including occasional site visits to customers, suppliers, and mine environments. Compliance with safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Flexibility to adapt to varied operational requirements and locations is essential.
