Role Purpose

The Operations Executive is responsible for planning and executing port calls effectively, ensuring service quality that meets or surpasses the expectations of Principals and ship masters.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehend and meet the port call requirements and expectations of Principals and ship masters.
• Manage port call turnarounds efficiently, balancing cost-effectiveness and speed.
• Keep all stakeholders updated on the port call progress throughout the operation.
• Advocate strongly for the Principals' interests at all times.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with authorized recipients, including providing routine updates pre-arrival, during the port call, and post-call follow-ups.
• Submit accurate and timely statutory declarations to various government and regulatory bodies, such as Immigration and Checkpoint Authorities (ICA), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Customs and Excise Department, National Environment Agency (NEA), security/enforcement agencies, and operators of involved facilities.

Knowledge and Skills

• Intermediate knowledge of maritime operations, local maritime laws and regulations, and local industry practices.
• Proficient in using MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel.
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with port and immigration documentation.

• Good work ethic, risk analysis aptitude, cultural competence, adaptability to change, and time management skills.

Experience

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 1 year working experience in one or more of the following sectors: ship agency service industry with proven track records, oil/gas/offshore industries, or as an engine or deck cadet.

Qualifications

• GCE “O” Level with credits in English and Mathematics.
• Diploma in Maritime Studies.

• Flexibility and integrity.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to work irregular hours outside of normal office times.
• Physically fit for ship boarding activities in anchorages, container ports, petrochemical installations, and shipyards.
• Not affected by aquaphobia or acrophobia.
