Operations Excellence Director

Role Overview

Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is looking to appoint a seasoned Operations Excellence Director within its Operations division. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, this leadership position is accountable for enhancing production planning, asset management, and project delivery across the enterprise. The Director's mandate includes driving superior operational performance, aligning activities with corporate objectives, maximizing resource utilization, and promoting sustainable growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Formulate and oversee execution of divisional strategies that support Tuwaiq's overall vision, ensuring operational plans are designed to meet long-term goals.
• Translate strategy into clear, measurable operational objectives aligned with the company's mission.
• Provide leadership to achieve divisional goals through effective team management, performance oversight, and development initiatives.
• Collaborate with domain experts to nurture talent pipelines and encourage innovative solutions.
• Mentor and coach team members to promote professional growth and cultivate a principled workplace culture.
• Ensure operations adhere to approved budgets and promptly report financial deviations to senior management.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs that foster a strong safety culture and comply with regulations.
• Continuously improve safety management systems, policies, and procedures to reduce risks and enhance operational excellence.
• Prepare accurate, timely divisional reports meeting quality standards and organizational policies.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance business objectives and support public relations and corporate social responsibility.
• Lead production planning, aligning schedules with customer demand to minimize lead times and optimize resources.
• Analyze production capacity data to identify gaps and opportunities consistent with operational goals.
• Manage inventory planning to balance cost-effectiveness with material availability.
• Oversee execution and adjustment of production plans to meet changing requirements while upholding efficiency.
• Develop asset management strategies ensuring precise inventory of machinery and equipment, coordinating maintenance and operations to maximize asset lifespan.
• Supervise capital projects involving acquisition or upgrades of critical assets aligned with strategic priorities.
• Plan lifecycle management of assets to optimize cost, performance, and risk, preventing obsolescence and equipment failure.
• Establish and enforce shop floor protocols promoting safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
• Present project updates and technical specifications to stakeholders to secure alignment with business and customer expectations.
• Lead processes for accurate and compliant customer invoicing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certifications like CMRP, CPIM, or PMP are advantageous.

Experience

• At least 12 years in Operations Management, Production Planning, Asset Management, or related fields.
• Minimum 6 years in roles with managerial responsibilities.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in production scheduling systems such as Just-in-Time, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS).
• Proven experience analyzing production capacities and optimizing workflow processes.
• Familiarity with project management frameworks and best practices.
