Operations Event Coordinator (Refinery)

Join Neste, a global frontrunner in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel production, dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We are seeking a motivated Operations Event Coordinator to join our team at the refinery in Tuas, Singapore, where you will play an essential role in preparing for and executing major operational events safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute operations-related events such as Turnarounds (TA), Unit Shutdowns (SD), major maintenance activities including tank inspections and absorbent replacements, as well as (pre)commissioning and initial startups of capital projects.
• Act as a backup team member during Turnarounds and Unit Shutdowns.
• Oversee TA/SD execution, guide shift teams accordingly, and provide progress reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between operations and third-party suppliers supporting Turnarounds and Shutdowns as assigned by the Operations Event Lead.
• Optimize work instructions related to Shutdown, Startup, and Clearing tasks for designated areas within Operations.
• Review, correct, and enhance assigned Operations NMS Work Procedures.
• Ensure that Shift Team Operations Shutdown Instructions comprehensively cover all necessary scopes.
• Communicate and train shift teams on event preparations and execution.
• Collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders throughout event processes.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum qualifications and supervisory experience options:
  • Polytechnic Diploma with at least 3 years of supervisory experience, or
  • Higher NITEC certification with a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience, or
  • GCE ‘O’ Level with 8 years of supervisory experience in petrochemical or refinery environments.
