DSO National Laboratories is Singapore's premier defence research and development entity tasked with advancing technologies to ensure national security. About the Information (INFO) Division
The INFO Division specializes in developing technologies to support MINDEF and SAF in exploiting information across physical and cyber battlefields. Expertise areas include cybersecurity, cryptography, data analysis and fusion, artificial intelligence, vulnerability assessments, and operational analysis. The INFO Software Laboratory focuses on creating software solutions encompassing Data Fusion, Big Data Analytics, AI/ML, C2 systems, and Simulation platforms, while also maintaining expertise in full-stack development and software engineering methodologies.
Role Overview
As an Operations Research Analyst, you will engage in comprehensive operational studies addressing defence and national security challenges. Your work involves crafting mathematical and simulation models to solve intricate problems, using engineering principles to forecast system behavior including performance and failure modes, and analyzing data to generate insights and strategic recommendations for leadership decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Analytics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, Operations Research, or Statistics.
- Proficient programming skills in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Strong capability to apply mathematical and statistical methodologies for modelling and analyzing defence and national security issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools such as LS DYNA and knowledge in computational or experimental impact mechanics is advantageous.
