Information Division and Mission

The Information Division is focused on developing battlefield information capabilities such as cybersecurity, data analytics, AI, robotics autonomy, and system teaming. The Information Assurance Programme aims to address pressing and future challenges in national cyber defence, including safeguarding critical infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, IoT, and embedded systems. Techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing, and game theory are explored for cyber analytics.

Role Overview: Computer Security Engineer

  • Investigate and research emerging system security threats, vulnerabilities, and associated risks.
  • Explore methods for detecting and preventing cyberattacks targeting both computer-based and network-based systems.
  • Carry out vulnerability assessments and security evaluations of various systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree qualifications preferred: PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer & Communication Systems, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Network Technology, Mathematics or closely related fields.
  • Familiarity and experience with system internals such as Windows OS, other operating systems (non-Windows), mobile OS, embedded systems, SCADA systems, SIEM technologies, cloud computing platforms, honeypots, and malware.
  • Demonstrated passion for computer and network security.
  • Prior research experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
