Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join Seneca Gaming Corporation as a Security Officer, tasked with safeguarding guests, employees, and corporate property while delivering exemplary customer service. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and security of guests and team members throughout the Seneca Gaming Corporation premises.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the Security Ambassador role, taking on respective duties when assigned.
  • Provide assistance and respond promptly to emergencies including medical incidents and guest disputes.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills to calmly defuse conflicts or complaints involving guests.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance and patrols across all designated areas as directed by Security Management.
  • Complete assigned posts and tasks in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Successfully complete CPR and First Aid certifications along with any mandatory training designated by the Director of Security.
  • Report all rule violations, suspicious activities, or incidents compromising corporate interests to the Security Supervisor.
  • Maintain integrity and security within slot, sportsbook, and table game areas.
  • Carry out Class III gaming-related duties such as asset transfers, table fills, slot/jackpot escorts, and card & dice verification, adapting as responsibilities evolve.
  • Comply fully with all regulations applicable to Class III gaming security and relevant local authorities.
  • Participate in internal or external investigations led by security or authorized agencies maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Upkeep confidentiality regarding departmental operations and all sensitive information.
  • Stay current with policies on information security, including acceptable use standards.
  • Deliver professional and friendly guest service consistently.
  • Fulfill attendance standards and adhere strictly to regulatory, departmental and corporate guidelines.
  • Complete designated security training programs within the first nine months of employment.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Understand that job duties, responsibilities, and requirements may change with evolving needs, and work hours align with a 24-hour operational schedule.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum age of 18 years at employment commencement.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification mandatory.
  • Preference for experience in security, law enforcement, military, or hospitality sectors.
  • Proficiency in software relevant to security functions such as report writing, dispatch systems, and common office programs including Word and Excel.
  • Strong observation abilities, writing, and spelling competencies.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in fast-paced, high-attention environments with significant guest interaction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with the public, employees, and customers diplomatically.
  • Conflict resolution skills with a tactful approach towards problem-solving.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Able to stand, walk, and navigate all casino areas extensively.
  • Willingness to work during nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Visual requirements include close and distance vision, color perception, peripheral sight, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Capability to maintain mental and physical stamina under pressure amidst a noisy, fast-moving casino atmosphere, including exposure to permitted smoking areas.

Compensation and Additional Information

The starting pay rate for this position is $17.50 per hour, negotiable based on relevant experience and education. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available. Requirements may be adjusted if qualified candidates are not immediately available, and additional benefits or changes may apply.
