Heavy Cleaner

Overview

The Heavy Cleaner role focuses on maintaining impeccable cleanliness across all public and non-public areas within the casino premises, adhering strictly to Seneca Gaming Corporation's established standards, policies, and Internal Control objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate various cleaning machines such as buffers, burnishers, carpet cleaning equipment, escalator cleaning apparatus, and other related tools to ensure consistent and thorough cleanliness of the casino.
• Execute cleaning tasks both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Employ knowledge of cleaning chemicals safely and effectively in accordance with regulations.
• Stay informed and compliant with all corporate policies, particularly concerning information security and the Acceptable Use Policy of Seneca Gaming Corporation.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by interacting courteously and professionally with patrons and colleagues at all times.
• Adhere strictly to attendance policies along with all regulatory and company guidelines.
• Complete all mandatory training programs within nine months from the start of employment.
• Participate in all required meetings and remain adaptable to evolving job duties and expectations.
• Work schedules may be variable, including 24-hour coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old upon hiring.
• A high school diploma or equivalent credential is preferred.
• Previous experience in customer service and housekeeping is advantageous.
• Competency in handling various cleaning equipment and chemicals is essential.
• Familiarity with specialized cleaning machines like buffers, carpet cleaners, escalator machines, and burnishers is necessary.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Strong communication abilities are required for effective interaction with customers, colleagues, and management.
• Ability to write routine correspondence clearly and convey information orally in a professional manner.
• Skilled at conflict resolution and maintaining diplomatic, tactful communication in challenging situations.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• The role involves the physical capacity to stand, walk, and traverse all areas of the casino consistently.
• Tasks require abilities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting heavy items.
• Capacity to sustain mental focus and physical stamina in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment, including exposure to areas where smoking is allowed.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.16 per hour, with salary negotiable depending on education and experience. Certain requirements may be flexible in the absence of fully qualified candidates.
