Role Overview

As an Offensive Security Engineer (Red/Purple Team), based in Brisbane or Sydney, you will:

• Conduct red and purple team operations targeting critical applications, infrastructure, and security controls.
• Develop and sustain custom red team infrastructure suited to engagement needs.
• Verify the effectiveness of controls, detection mechanisms, and logging systems, identifying and confirming closure of security gaps.
• Manage and enhance Breach & Attack Simulation (BAS) activities.
• Utilize AI technologies to expand attack path analyses and prioritize significant vulnerabilities.
• Complete the security cycle by recommending remediation actions, new detections, log sources, and controls, integrating findings into engineering sprints.
• Serve as the verification component of threat-informed defense strategies, mapped to the ATT&CK framework.

Essential Skills

• Experienced in offensive security tactics including adversary emulation, command and control (C2), exploitation, and attack path analysis across cloud, infrastructure, and endpoints.
• Proficiency in detection technologies and logging systems to fulfill purple team functions.
• Familiarity with Breach & Attack Simulation and MITRE ATT&CK methodology.
• Strong Python programming skills for automation within strict operational protocols.

Desired Qualifications (Bonus)

• Experience with AI programming and agentic tools (such as GPT-5.5 Trusted Access for Cyber, Codex, Claude Code, Copilot) for identifying and demonstrating vulnerabilities in repositories.
• Knowledge of GitLab Ultimate and deploying AI-powered code-analysis frameworks.
• Expertise in detection engineering.
• Background in application and code security, including SAST, DAST, and software composition analysis (SCA).
