Job Overview

The role of NDT Inspector Level II involves conducting Non-Destructive Testing inspections utilizing approved methods to assess the condition and reliability of materials, welds, and components without causing any harm. Inspections take place in field as well as workshop settings. The inspector interprets results and compiles detailed inspection reports aligning with relevant codes, standards, procedures, and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out NDT inspections using certified methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Visual Testing (VT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET), matching certification and project needs.
• Inspect welds, pipelines, pressure vessels, structural parts, and associated equipment systematically.
• Configure, calibrate, and operate inspection devices per approved processes.
• Execute inspections independently within the scope of Level II certification authority.
• Analyze inspection outcomes against applicable codes, standards, and acceptance requirements.
• Detect and report flaws, defects, or deviations discovered during inspections.
• Produce clear, accurate inspection reports and technical documentation for client review.
• Ensure all inspection work complies with ASME, API, AWS, ISO standards, client specifications, and established NDT protocols.
• Collaborate with QA/QC engineers, welding inspectors, client reps, and project staff to relay inspection findings.
• Maintain inspection equipment properly, checking calibration and storage conditions.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, environmental, quality, and company procedures throughout tasks.
• Assist with client audits, re-inspections, and related inspection activities as needed.
• Perform duties across various environments including field, workshop, site, or offshore; willing to travel accordingly.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma, technical diploma, or Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in NDT inspection.
• Hold a valid NDT Level II certification for relevant testing methods following ASNT, ISO 9712, or an equivalent recognized certification body.
• Preferably certified in multiple methods such as UT, Phased Array UT (PAUT), RT, MT, PT, VT, ET tailored to project demands.
• Solid understanding of NDT procedures, testing methods, and acceptance criteria.
• Knowledge of industrial codes and standards including ASME, API, AWS, and ISO standards.
• Competence in setting up, calibrating, and effectively handling inspection tools and equipment.
• Ability to interpret inspection data and formulate precise reports.
• Capable of reading engineering blueprints, welding documentation, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical thinking, reporting aptitude, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication skills for liaising with QA/QC teams and clients.
• Open to travel and working across varied environments including offshore and onsite locations.
