Role Summary
The MWR Specialist Lead is tasked with overseeing staff and daily operations across various functional areas including Fitness, Lounge, Housekeeping/Custodial, Linen Exchange, Community Activities Centers, Learning Resource Center, Media Center, and Theater. These facilities operate 24/7, and the role entails coordinating services like customer care, cashiering, bartending, lounge support, basic maintenance, event coordination, cultural outings, and other related activities as outlined in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The position reports directly to the Department Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel including monitoring other country nationals as per AFCENTI 32-1002 and securing escort badges.
- Lead customer service efforts and perform related functions in all recreational service areas.
- Enforce company standards through leadership by example, promote teamwork, and ensure facilities remain clean, welcoming, and well-maintained.
- Manage and upkeep facility equipment, maintain inventory and issue tracking, and implement 5-year equipment plans.
- Complete required documentation, work orders, and track their progress.
- Oversee events and special events, producing after-action reports per PWS guidelines.
- Handle setup and teardown of government equipment including tables, chairs, music systems, ice chests, and stages following PWS specifications.
- Maintain safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, professional, and clutter-free facilities.
- Fulfill all Vectrus and government mandated training requirements.
- Ensure proper usage and protection of government and contractor property.
- Accurately report company time and complete timesheets correctly.
- Assist in transporting other country national staff for badging appointments and signing for badges as a Unit Personnel Coordinator (UPC).
- Perform additional duties as assigned and act as supervisor during department manager absence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. SECRET or Interim Secret Security Clearance.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid U.S. Passport and Driver’s License.
- Licensing: Capability to obtain an Air Force flight line driver’s license; driving manual transmission vehicles preferred. Commercial Driver’s License A (CDLA) and forklift experience are advantageous.
- Language: Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
- Compliance: Able to meet employment and deployment screening including psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, and background verification.
- Certifications: Serve-Safe Alcohol Awareness required for Lounge/Bartender roles; CPR/AED/First Aid required for Fitness Center roles.
- Training: Successful completion of online and practical CBRN defense training including fit testing with DOD-provided protective gear.
Experience
- At least two years of customer service experience.
- Prior experience in Air Force Services career field is preferred.
Essential Skills
- Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficient in operating audio and visual equipment.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work extended hours to fulfill mission requirements.
- Experience with military contingencies and government contracting is an advantage.
Work Environment and Conditions
- Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor support for events.
- Exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, dust, noise, and chemicals may occur.
- Potential requirement for overtime and shift work based on contract necessities.
- Adherence to all federal, state, local regulations, company policies, and work rules is mandatory.
- Task-specific work environment training will be provided.
- Preparedness to operate in wartime environments supporting U.S. interests is essential.
- This role requires 100% overseas assignment in Qatar.
