Role Overview
Reporting to the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Lead, the Transportation Dispatcher provides exemplary internal and external customer service. This role maintains detailed records of fleet vehicles and Material Handling Equipment (MHE), tracking details such as odometer mileage, destinations, return times, and maintenance needs. The dispatcher ensures accountability of all fleet and MHE assets by monitoring their release and return, coordinating with vendors and property teams, and ensuring proper tagging and compliance with licensing and permit policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary dispatcher managing daily fleet and MHE operations, including receiving and recording requests from TMP leadership.
- Order parts and supplies for TMP fleet maintenance and coordinate service appointments for vehicles.
- Manage coordination with the Property Team regarding tagging and un-tagging of leased equipment to maintain 100% compliance.
- Maintain and update dispatch board information accurately on a daily basis.
- Prepare and submit daily reports to TMP leadership with complete accuracy.
- Ensure full accountability of all assigned vehicles and equipment under supervision.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; candidates must provide proof upon application.
- Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal, including email, telephone, and Microsoft Teams.
- Strong ability to record, transmit, and report information precisely and reliably.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Engages in light physical activity occasionally involving up to 20 pounds of force and frequently up to 10 pounds.
- Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as data preparation, reading, computer work, inspection of small parts, and assembly.
- Work environment may expose the employee to extreme heat (above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for extended periods), loud noise necessitating shouting to communicate, and various workplace hazards including moving machinery parts, electrical currents, scaffolding work at heights, heat, and chemical exposure.
