Job description

Job Overview

This role involves performing a wide range of cleaning duties within designated areas to maintain cleanliness and safety standards.

Key Duties

  • Gather and empty trash and recycling according to schedules, manage hazardous materials and spills properly, ensuring safe disposal and placement in designated containers.
  • Prepare cleaning carts aligned to assigned responsibilities and accurately mix cleaning solutions following manufacturer instructions.
  • Clean various surfaces including floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using suitable manual and mechanical tools and detergents.
  • Operate equipment to vacuum, strip, wax, and shampoo carpets and floors efficiently.
  • Sanitize showers, restrooms, toilets, sinks, and drains using hand tools and appropriate cleaning chemicals.
  • Replace light bulbs and clean/dust high fixtures like ceilings and light fittings using ladders and necessary equipment.
  • Polish wood and metal furnishings, fixtures, furniture, and other equipment to maintain appearance and hygiene.
  • Monitor inventory levels for cleaning supplies and tools; report equipment failures or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Manage building fixtures and decorative elements including curtains, blinds, and pictures by cleaning, replacing, or arranging as required.
  • Rearrange furniture and equipment to facilitate cleaning operations or prepare spaces for meetings and events.

Additional tasks may include following specific disinfectant and sanitation protocols, removing snow and salt from walkways, cleaning exterior paths and grounds, mowing lawns using suitable equipment, completing laundry duties, and changing bed linens.

Qualifications

No formal education or experience is required; candidates must be physically capable of fulfilling the job responsibilities and able to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
