Role Overview

This position involves the safe and precise clearing of ammunition and related hazardous munitions areas, requiring specialized manual probing and excavation tasks in designated areas.

Key Duties

• Clearing ammunition and ammunition sites through manual probing and digging activities.
• Conducting clearing and pruning work on heathlands and succession areas.
• Locating disruptive objects within assigned clearance zones using appropriate detectors.
• Determining exact positions of detected disruptive objects by probing.
• Supervising auxiliary munitions clearance personnel for excavation and exposure work of detected items.
• Maintaining and servicing detection probes.
• Performing daily functional checks documented in the detector control logbook.
• Excavating and uncovering identified disruptive objects.
• Marking tasks within the designated clearance section.
• Collecting and removing scrap and metal pieces encountered.
• Upkeep of work equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Conducting probing of clearance fields.
• Engaging in munitions clearance activities.
• Recording all detected disruption points thoroughly.
• Supporting surveying efforts as needed.
• Operating construction machinery such as excavators and drilling equipment is desirable, following instruction or with qualification.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in ammunition recovery is advantageous.
• Possession of a probe operator license or practical experience with probe handling.
• First aid training is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.
• Willingness to travel as required by the role.
• Driving license is beneficial.
• Keen knowledge or experience in explosive ordnance disposal is a plus.
• Proficient handling of various probes and job-specific tools is desirable.
• Physical fitness and medical suitability for this line of work are essential.
• Dependability and a clean legal record as defined by explosives legislation are mandatory.
• Company-organized carpooling or group transportation options may be available.
• A criminal background check is compulsory.
• Proficiency in German language, both spoken and written, is required.
