As MEICA Project Manager, you will oversee multi-disciplinary engineering scopes including Civil, Building, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (MEICA). Your responsibilities include program and commercial management as well as enhancing health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) standards.

Key Duties

  • Ensure continuous adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability protocols onsite.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among team members, encouraging safety-conscious behavior.
  • Engage and maintain positive relationships with clients, representatives, and third-party agencies to foster collaboration.
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary civil, MEICA, and process engineering teams to achieve project goals on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Serve as coordinator for projects’ PSDP roles and act as PSCS on live sites when required, ensuring compliance documentation is current and available.
  • Conduct frequent health and safety inspections, facilitate toolbox talks, and organize team meetings to reinforce onsite safety awareness.
  • Implement project management best practices including Lean Construction and Last Planner methodologies.
  • Monitor and report on project performance including risk identification and mitigation, as well as opportunity management.
  • Provide monthly progress reports to the framework manager covering program, budget, and HSQE metrics.
  • Lead procurement efforts to secure supplies and subcontractors timely and cost-effectively.
  • Manage project cash flow in coordination with contracts and commercial managers, ensuring timely interim payment submissions.
  • Develop and mentor staff through training and resource planning, including recruitment responsibilities.
  • Contribute insights for tendering new projects and maintain client satisfaction by addressing complaints promptly and incorporating client feedback.
  • Drive continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and innovative solutions for future project delivery.
  • Stay current with evolving standards and technology through ongoing professional development (CPD).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years in a comparable project management role, ideally within the water and wastewater sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013; certification in Managing Safely for Construction Managers is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing civil and MEICA engineering projects—examples include concrete works, pipe laying, mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Level 8 Honours Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong ability to work effectively under pressure to meet project targets.
  • Competence in financial negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to finalize accounts.
  • Proficient in program management software such as Microsoft Project, with the ability to develop baseline schedules and updates.
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and adaptability throughout project delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Excellent communication skills paired with a committed work ethic and motivation.
  • Possession of a full valid driving license.
