Electrical Engineer

Position Overview

Join us as a Maintenance Electrician during the night shift (4pm to Midnight) where you will play a crucial role in avoiding costly delays by maintaining and repairing key production machinery. You will diagnose faults with accuracy and deploy effective solutions to ensure smooth and continuous operations. This role demands technical proficiency as well as agility in a dynamic, hands-on setting. Flexibility to switch shifts when needed is required.

Key Duties

• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime in production.
• Efficiently identify and fix electrical issues.
• Keep detailed records of equipment malfunctions and preventive maintenance actions.
• Collaborate closely with various departments to meet production targets.
• Monitor equipment status and engage with supervisors to preempt potential problems.
• Comply fully with health and safety standards and contribute to a safe workplace.
• Offer innovative ideas to improve processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
• Participate in necessary meetings and training programs.

Candidate Profile

• Must be a Registered Electrician with a current practising licence.
• Industrial experience preferred.
• Proficiency with PLCs, analogue and digital controls, as well as AC/DC motor drives.
• Competent in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams and performing fault troubleshooting.
• Experience with newspaper press machinery (Goss) and packaging or publishing equipment is advantageous.
• Strong computing skills, including familiarity with communication protocols such as RS232, RS422, and Ethernet.
• Excellent analytical abilities with a proactive mindset towards maintenance challenges.
• Effective communicator comfortable with teamwork.
• Deep commitment to health and safety protocols.
