Overview
Glanua invites applications for the role of Design Co-ordinator based at their Head Office in Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland. This position offers a competitive salary and an opportunity to contribute to innovative, sustainable, and efficient design solutions at a leading construction company. The Design Co-ordinator will foster Glanua's culture and ethos, coordinating design information and collaborating closely with project teams and clients to ensure smooth delivery of construction design projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with clients, client representatives, and third-party agencies to promote a positive, cooperative work environment.
- Chair design meetings involving internal teams, clients, and third parties, ensuring timely recording and resolution of actions.
- Coordinate with the design manager and site team to prepare and organise design submissions according to project schedules.
- Arrange weekly coordination meetings with the site team to monitor design outputs versus deliverables and timelines.
- Manage project mark-ups, track issues and reviews, and escalate when necessary.
- Review and compile documents and drawings to meet internal governance standards and client approval processes.
- Collaborate with the BIM coordination team and design manager to ensure proper document naming and storage aligned with quality procedures.
- Coordinate development and updates of 3D construction models, conducting regular reviews to maintain accuracy.
- Oversee production of as-built drawings and coordinate BCAR process adherence with certifiers and subcontractors.
- Integrate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability standards into design processes.
- Conduct site visits as needed to support project execution.
- Contribute feedback and innovative ideas to improve design delivery processes for future projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current design standards and technologies through ongoing professional development.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Prior experience in design coordination or related design roles within construction.
- Understanding of construction work processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple design information streams.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to deliver work under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with ACC/BIM360 platforms is an advantage.
