Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the meat department, making sure it is always tidy, well-zoned, and ready for customers.
• Perform regular stock rotation and promptly remove expired or unsellable items to maintain product quality.
• Ensure all meat products are correctly priced and signed following established ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, labeling, and pricing procedures.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and cold chain protocols including temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, appropriate food handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiry dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken using equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers, maintaining safe operation standards.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies to sustain a safe, hygienic work environment.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs and provide consistent quality service.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Handle a high workload in a fast-paced retail environment, including managing overnight shifts effectively to remain focused and energetic.
• Manage physical demands such as extended standing, bending, lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks like stocking and organizing products with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

Compensation

The starting pay for this role is $18.70 per hour.
