Job description
About the Role
This position involves delivering massage treatments to guests, utilizing various accessories and products. The therapist performs body treatments such as body scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy sessions. An essential part of the role is to assess guest needs and check for contraindications like allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy prior to starting any service. The therapist must stay updated with current techniques and modalities relevant to their profession. Escorting guests to and from treatment rooms is part of the duties, as well as preparing and maintaining the workstation and treatment areas.
Responsibilities
- Regularly check in with guests during treatments to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Promote and sell spa and salon services, including retail products linked to the Spa.
- Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments used during treatments.
- Keep the treatment room and workstation clean throughout the shift, dispose of waste and used linens appropriately, and store equipment and supplies at end of shift.
- Adhere to scheduled working hours and promptly address any inappropriate guest behavior in accordance with company policies, including reporting to supervisors if necessary.
- Maintain updated skills and necessary licenses as per regional service requirements.
- Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management; complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Comply with all company policies, maintain professional appearance and uniform, preserve confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Welcome and attend to guests professionally, anticipate their needs, and express genuine gratitude.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and guests; foster positive workplace relationships.
- Physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods; handle and manipulate objects efficiently and safely.
- Perform any reasonable additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Educational qualification: Diploma from a technical, trade, or vocational school in a relevant field.
- Professional experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role providing massage therapy services.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid state or regional massage therapy license or certification.
