Role Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a Porter Driver in the Hotel Services department at Ailsa Hospital. The role involves transporting equipment, supplies, vaccines, and other essentials critical to operating mass vaccination sites, care homes, and schools throughout Ayrshire and Arran.
Working Hours
Two posts are offered, both for 25 hours per week with varied shifts, including Monday through Sunday coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and transport vaccines, medical equipment, sundries, and emergency oxygen to multiple vaccination centers, care homes, schools, and marshalling venues in NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
- Ensure each location is stocked, functional, and well-prepared to support vaccination services.
- Work independently across multiple sites throughout the day adapting to service requirements.
- Maintain effective organization and flexibility in shift patterns due to dynamic program demands.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a full UK driving license; essential for this role.
- Demonstrate motivation, reliability, and a flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the vaccination program.
- Previous portering or logistics experience is beneficial but not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
- Capable of safely and efficiently managing duties supporting mass vaccination efforts.
Additional Information and Terms
- Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK or be eligible for visa sponsorship if applicable; sponsorship is subject to salary and role criteria and not guaranteed for this Band 2 position.
