Job description

About Bolt Pharmacy and AIOS

Bolt Pharmacy operates as the flagship UK pharmacy brand of AIOS, a pioneering company developing the world's first comprehensive AI doctor system. Based in Blackburn, UK, Bolt Pharmacy serves over 200,000 patients monthly and is profitable amidst rapid AI-powered healthcare expansion.

AIOS has impressive growth milestones: reaching $400M ARR from $10M in a year, with ambitious targets to scale use of GLP-1 treatments across Europe, progressing through phases to achieve a $1 trillion annual healthcare impact by 2035 through autonomous prescribing and mass deployment.

Role Overview

The Marshal role at Bolt Pharmacy is critical to maintaining a smooth, safe, and efficient pharmacy floor environment. You will be responsible for managing your assigned dispensary area by ensuring supplies and packing stations are well stocked, anticipating and resolving bottlenecks to keep patient treatments on track without delays.

Success means rapid response (within 3 minutes) to packer needs, consistent packing runs without interruptions, and maintaining stringent medication safety and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor and replenish medicines and consumables at packing stations to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure correct handling by supplying only one medication strength and appropriate order stacks per station, verifying accuracy before restocking.
  • Enforce cold chain management by following procedures and promptly returning temperature-controlled meds to refrigeration when not in use.
  • Handle medications safely: use designated holding areas, prevent unattended stock, and quarantine damaged or suspect items for review.
  • Maintain a safe, uncluttered work area by disposing of waste, keeping exits clear, removing hazards, and using equipment only when trained and authorized.
  • Collaborate with Marshals, Dispensers, and shift leaders; cover for others during breaks; promptly report stock inconsistencies or rotation errors.

Requirements and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, health & safety, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
  • Highly attentive to detail, ensuring medication strength and order accuracy, as well as proper storage conditions.
  • Strong sense of ownership and organization to independently manage changing priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and reliable work ethic for consistent shift performance.
  • Physically capable of performing demanding on-foot tasks and routine manual handling.

Desirable

  • Experience in regulated warehousing, logistics, pharmacy, or healthcare settings.
  • Understanding of cold-chain management for temperature-controlled medicines.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems for stock tracking and discrepancy identification.
  • Possession of forklift, pump truck, or baler certification; if not held, training will be provided.

Company Culture

  • Deep commitment to the healthcare mission serving millions and transforming patient lives.
  • Impeccable integrity and transparency in a rapidly evolving, ambiguous environment.
  • Relentless pursuit of excellence, urgency in execution, resourcefulness, and focus on long-term customer value.
  • Frugal approach respecting resource management, with a culture valuing candor and constructive feedback.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Training period pays £13 per hour until qualification and sign-off.
  • Post-qualification compensation rises to £15 per hour, inclusive of equity participation.
  • £400 annual allowance for books, courses, and coaching for professional growth.
  • £400 annual budget dedicated to health and wellness (gym memberships, health apps).
  • Access to free biweekly health and work coaching sessions.
  • Complimentary GLP-1 clinic membership, if medically appropriate.
