Job description
Role Overview
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Lean Technician responsible for leading Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives at our client's facility located in Sligo.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence efforts across manufacturing and site operations.
- Identify and remove waste, inefficiencies, and non-value-added processes.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques such as Kaizen, 5S/6S, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional improvement projects and facilitate workshops focused on Lean and Continuous Improvement.
- Utilize KPIs, data analysis, and performance metrics to discover opportunities and quantify enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure sustainable workflow improvements.
- Maintain oversight of project goals, action items, timelines, and tangible benefits.
- Champion standardisation, best practices, and nurture a Continuous Improvement culture.
- Provide Lean training, coaching, and foster employee participation.
- Ensure all process improvements and documentation comply with quality, regulatory, and ISO standards.
- Develop controls to uphold improvements and enable replication of successful projects across the organisation.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Lean, Quality, or a related field.
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence in a regulated setting.
- Hands-on familiarity with Lean methodology tools such as Kaizen events, 5S/6S, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Track record of executing process enhancement projects with measurable success.
- Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to leverage data and KPIs to drive improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of collaborating cross-functionally.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other recognized Lean/Continuous Improvement training.
- Experience working with ERP or manufacturing information systems and KPI reporting tools.
