About the Role
Our client, a reputable office furniture and equipment company based in Cork, is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead and expand their market presence within the Cork region. This role involves a combination of office-based duties, client site visits, and showroom interactions, acting as the key sales and marketing representative—the 'Cork Champion'—for the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute a detailed business plan targeting the Cork territory, focusing on financial objectives and critical milestones within set timelines.
- Identify and engage with potential clients and key decision-makers across relevant organizations to uncover new business opportunities.
- Maintain and deepen relationships with the existing client base to support continued business success.
- Target the architects and design community in Cork, distributing pertinent content to foster connections and opportunities.
- Develop thorough product knowledge and market understanding to tailor quotations and proposals effectively.
- Contribute actively to the development and implementation of a coherent, suitable, and brand-aligned marketing strategy.
- Prepare weekly progress reports while diligently updating daily activities in the company’s CRM and associated tracking tools.
- Report directly to the company’s directors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals and performance.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Sales, or Account Management roles.
- Demonstrated success in securing new business and driving revenue growth.
- Competent in managing the entire sales lifecycle, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, capable of building and sustaining long-term relationships.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms to effectively manage sales pipelines and activities.
- Strong analytical abilities in reporting and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
