Manager / Senior Manager - Test Engineering

Role Overview

Lead a dedicated team of Test Engineers focused on system-on-chip (SoC) test program development and managing the product release lifecycle. Drive the timely launch of products by ensuring critical goals related to time-to-market, yield, test duration, quality, and cost efficiency are met. Build and foster an engineering organization that integrates AI technologies for high performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, guide, and nurture a team of test engineers, fostering innovation and technical excellence.
• Oversee resource allocation and project prioritization across various product development projects.
• Develop expertise within the team in cutting-edge test methodologies, data analytics, automation, and AI-aided engineering techniques.
• Create and own the strategy for test development from initial silicon bring-up through to successful production release.
• Manage wafer sort and final test program development including product characterization and qualification.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Product Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure products are ready for production.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage, manufacturability, and adherence to product quality standards prior to release.
• Meet deadlines while achieving milestones related to time-to-market, yield targets, test duration, cost constraints and product quality demands.
• Promote continual enhancements in test efficiency, coverage, and engineering productivity.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and promptly manage escalation routes to secure timely product releases.
• Lead the integration of AI-driven approaches and data-centric engineering practices in the team.
• Spot and implement AI, automation, and advanced analytics opportunities to boost test development efficiency, debugging processes, documentation, and reporting.
• Drive measurable improvements in productivity through AI-supported workflows and digital transformation efforts.
• Cultivate a company-wide culture embracing AI-augmented engineering methods.

Candidate Profile

• Experience ranging from 5 to 10 years within the semiconductor sector.
• Expertise in SoC test development, product qualification, silicon characterization, and new product introduction/production release.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience including project or people management roles.
• Comprehensive knowledge of SoC architectures, wafer sort and final test program development, Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms, yield analysis and optimization methods, test methodologies, qualification processes, and statistical engineering problem-solving techniques.
• Proven track record in leading and developing top-performing engineering teams.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership abilities and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in championing digital transformation, automation, and engineering productivity enhancements.
• An understanding of AI, data analytics, and automation benefits for improving engineering outcomes.
• Capability to drive organizational adoption of AI-based engineering technologies and practices.
