About the Role
Auckland Council is seeking a seasoned Marketing Strategy Manager to lead the organization-wide marketing direction within its Communications & Marketing department. Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Publicity, this role is pivotal in aligning marketing activities with council priorities to produce impactful outcomes for over 1.8 million Auckland residents. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement based in central Auckland, accompanied by a salary ranging from $150,000 to $175,000 alongside KiwiSaver contributions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Marketing Principals to design tailored marketing strategies supporting major initiatives and intended outputs.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Auckland's diverse population to guide strategic marketing decisions.
- Leverage research, insights, and data to formulate actionable marketing strategies.
- Oversee channel planning and brief formulation aiming to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Work jointly with internal teams and agency partners to maintain brand consistency aligned with Auckland Council’s values.
- Contribute as a strategic leader within the Communications and Marketing department.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in senior marketing roles within large and complex organizations or agencies.
- Experience in crafting and executing marketing strategies grounded in audience analysis and market research.
- Expertise in integrated marketing channels and orchestrating campaigns.
- Strong influence and credibility-building skills with senior stakeholders.
- A history of leading strategic projects and fostering organizational cohesion.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- Sound decision-making skills coupled with political sensitivity in multifaceted environments.
- Capable of managing competing priorities, clarifying ambiguity, and promoting collaborative achievements.
