Manager - Laundry Operations

About the Role

This position oversees the daily operations of the hotel laundry services, ensuring timely cleaning, drying, and ironing of linens for guest rooms and Food & Beverage/Culinary departments. The role emphasizes maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace while aiming to maximize customer satisfaction and the financial performance of the laundry department.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry operations, manage employee teams, and ensure adherence to quality standards and customer expectations.
• Manage department budgets, including ordering supplies and uniforms while controlling operational expenses to meet financial targets.
• Promote and monitor safety procedures among staff, ensuring compliance with safety codes and protocols.
• Communicate effectively within the department and with other hotel units such as Engineering for equipment maintenance.
• Develop contingency plans to handle equipment breakdowns and implement new technologies or supplies where appropriate.
• Lead, influence, and encourage teamwork to maintain high productivity levels and foster mutual respect and cooperation among employees.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by empowering staff and providing coaching to meet and exceed customer satisfaction.
• Oversee human resource functions including recruiting, staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee recognition efforts.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum educational qualification of high school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of relevant experience in laundry, housekeeping, or a related professional field.
