Overview
NBC, Tanzania's longest-serving bank with over 50 years of expertise, offers diverse retail, corporate, and investment banking services. The Manager of Digital Lending will spearhead the full lifecycle management and expansion of the bank's digital lending portfolio, including salary advances, personal digital loans, and integrated lending partnerships with fintech and ecosystem participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and lead the digital lending growth strategy encompassing salary advances, personal loans, pre-approved credit, and embedded lending products targeting scalable portfolio expansion and improved profitability.
- Drive portfolio growth through customer acquisition, engagement, repeat borrowing, and optimizing client lifetime value via automated channels like mobile banking, USSD, APIs, and partner platforms.
- Create and maintain performance dashboards monitoring KPIs such as disbursement volume, approval and conversion rates, cost efficiency, and overall loan portfolio profitability.
- Execute targeted digital lending campaigns to boost uptake of products, refining customer journeys to accelerate approval timelines and improve conversion metrics.
- Lead collaborations with marketing and retail teams to implement data-driven customer segmentation, behavioral insights, and upselling of credit offerings.
- Manage strategic alliances with fintech, mobile money operators, and digital marketplaces to embed lending solutions, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Partner with credit risk to optimize scoring models, automate credit decisioning, and uphold portfolio quality with proactive risk management techniques.
- Ensure exemplary end-to-end customer experience, minimizing friction and enhancing service responsiveness across all digital channels.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, IT, or related disciplines; an MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years experience in banking, fintech, or digital financial services, emphasizing digital/consumer lending, credit risk, and product or portfolio management.
- Proven experience working with fintechs, telco, or API-based digital platforms is highly advantageous.
