About the Role
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is leading Singapore’s ambition to become a global leader in the Digital Economy by empowering businesses and the workforce to leverage digital technologies for innovation and trust development in an increasingly digital landscape.
We seek a Manager to be a key member of the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) team, focusing on AI and Trust Technologies. This role involves leading cross-domain research initiatives and translating research achievements into business opportunities. The successful applicant will independently drive research-to-business strategies, champion thought leadership efforts on both local and international platforms, and foster strategic collaborations and partnerships, including with notable organizations such as the World Economic Forum, Global Partnership on AI, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement research-to-business strategies focused on AI, Trust Technologies, and cross-domain research aligned with national priorities, including preparing RIE funding initiatives and crafting success metrics for research programs.
- Forge and manage impactful partnerships with Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes, representing Singapore and IMDA in technology forums and standards committees.
- Drive the conversion of research insights into commercially viable ventures.
- Lead and expand international collaborative efforts in relevant technology domains.
- Assist senior leadership by analyzing global trends and technological advances in AI and Trust, making informed recommendations to guide policy and risk management strategies.
- Communicate perspectives and insights on AI and Trust research through publications, social media, and professional papers.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
- Have 5 to 8 years’ experience managing technology teams within research and/or engineering contexts.
- Demonstrate familiarity with the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) ecosystem.
- Exhibit strategic thinking abilities, a collaborative mindset, and excel as a proactive team player.
- Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong skills in managing relationships with both local and international partners and stakeholders.
