Job description
Role Overview
This position involves supporting IMDA's communications strategy for its business programs, focusing on crafting messaging, developing communication plans, and designing key media strategies. The role also includes managing relationships with media, internal stakeholders, and external industry collaborators.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand priorities and programmes to design and execute comprehensive public communication plans that enhance awareness.
- Coordinate with other business units, agencies, and government ministries as necessary to streamline efforts.
- Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to inform and develop thorough plans managing public narratives across diverse channels.
- Manage media relations activities including briefings, preparation of materials, media pitching, handling interview requests, and preparing talking points for speeches and engagements.
- Increase audience understanding of business policies, programmes, and initiatives.
- Work closely with various teams to ensure alignment of messaging and plans tailored to target audiences.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
- Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Journalism, Public Relations, or Government Communications.
- Motivated and energetic individual capable of thriving and delivering outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills in project management and data analysis, with the ability to complete projects effectively and on schedule.
- Experience engaging with reporters covering technology and business media is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proven ability to manage third-party agencies, vendors, or suppliers efficiently.
- Competency in translating business unit requirements into impactful communication strategies.
- Interest and curiosity about the technology and media sectors.
