Job description
Overview
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is seeking a proficient Software Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer who is also passionate about DevOps to enhance the quality and reliability of its software products. This role is pivotal in integrating quality assurance with reliability to ensure smooth operation of software systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with development and platform engineering teams to uphold software application quality and reliability.
- Design, create, and implement detailed test plans and test cases covering both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Develop and support automated testing frameworks and scripts to maximize test coverage, including performance and resilience evaluations.
- Engage in incident analysis, root cause investigation, and post-mortem reviews to address quality and reliability issues.
- Work alongside development teams to embed quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Promote a culture focused on quality and reliability by sharing knowledge and advocating best practices across teams.
- Support the advancement of DevOps methodologies, processes, and standards within the organization.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience.
- Between three and five years of experience in quality assurance engineering and software testing, with demonstrated interest and knowledge of DevOps principles.
- Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python or Node.js.
- Experienced in QA testing methodologies and familiar with tools and frameworks including Jest, Pytest, Playwright, Selenium, among others.
- Skilled in methodologies and tools for performance testing.
- Familiar with software development life cycles, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and agile practices.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing complex technical challenges.
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills, comfortable working across different functional teams.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
