About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician working across the Halifax and Bradford areas for Tesco, you will be instrumental in maintaining safe, operational, and welcoming store environments for both customers and staff. Your responsibilities will span both planned and reactive maintenance tasks on various equipment and systems to ensure smooth business operations.
Your technical skills will enable you to quickly diagnose and fix issues, with a focus on safety, compliance, and upholding quality standards. This practical role necessitates a proactive approach, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities
- Effectively liaise with external contractors to ensure seamless repair coordination.
- Collaborate actively with team members to uphold high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain high levels of energy and multitask efficiently across varied duties.
- Assist management in keeping stores fully functional through diligent equipment and facility maintenance.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to customers.
- Ensure all Tesco properties maintain safety and operational standards for staff and shoppers.
- Follow planned maintenance schedules with the aim of achieving first-time fixes to boost efficiency.
- Share knowledge and best practices among the team.
- Perform routine store and property upkeep tasks.
- Utilize mobile technology such as phones and tablets to optimize work completion and communication.
- Embody Tesco's core values by representing the brand positively, maintaining a good attitude, and wearing the uniform with pride.
- Participate in local and national meetings to contribute feedback and insights.

Requirements
- Prior experience in maintenance, engineering, or construction environments.
- Proficiency with digital tools, including tablets for daily work planning and email management.
- Qualifications such as ONC or an equivalent certification.
- Valid full driving license.
- Awareness of Health and Safety protocols.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Completion of all relevant technical training and upskilling modules.
