Position Overview

As a Panel Technician based at the Nottingham branch, your role involves precise and skilled panel repair and replacement on vehicles, ensuring full customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and diagnosing any supplementary faults for repair.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform repairs adhering strictly to prescribed methods and standards.
• Work efficiently according to timelines and standards set by Thatcham, insurance companies, manufacturers, and company policies.
• Conduct test welds before welding activities and retain the test results until repair completion.
• Use body filler and finish repairs with 180-grade production paper across all damage areas.
• Maintain accurate records of additional parts required and communicate with relevant departments.
• Practice good housekeeping by safely storing removed panels and disposing waste appropriately.
• Protect vehicles from further damage during repairs by keeping windows closed, masking open apertures, and using seat and steering wheel covers along with plastic protection sheets.
• Store reusable parts securely in boxes or wheeled cages to prevent damage.
• Small parts may be retained in the vehicle only if secured to avoid causing damage.
• Immediately report any damaged parts not slated for renewal or repair to the Estimator and Production Manager.
• Check all personal protective equipment (PPE) daily and sign fit-for-use logs weekly.
• Comply with current Health and Safety and COSHH regulations related to your role.
• Ensure paint and thinner containers are closed when not in use.
• Avoid storing parts on vehicle roofs or bonnets.
• Carry out repairs meeting BS 10125 standards.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably IMI/ATA qualified Panel Technician with strong bodyshop experience.
• Possess a strong work ethic aiming to deliver high-quality service.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Capable of handling a fast-paced work setting and multitasking efficiently.
• Committed to offering excellent customer service.
• Holds a valid full UK driving license (preferred).

Working Hours and Location

• Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour shift each day.
• Onsite work location in Nottingham, England.
