Cafe Team Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Cafe Team Leader to join our vibrant café located in Oban, Scotland. This role involves working in a dynamic, customer-focused environment where efficiency and superb customer service are paramount. You will assist the Manager in meeting operational and financial targets while coaching and developing the team for optimal performance. Your leadership will set the tone for excellent customer experiences and smooth daily operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure seamless café operations by upholding safety and operational standards.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene policies.
• Lead the team by example, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Manage opening and closing procedures and operate the café in the Manager’s absence.
• Recognize and reward team members who excel in service delivery.
• Master the menu details and help team members to do the same.
• Enhance sales through efficient team coordination and placement.
• Provide Health & Safety and Food Safety training to café staff.
• Support coaching and development initiatives for colleagues.
• Continuously seek improvements in service and operational processes.
• Create and maintain an inclusive workplace where staff feel valued, respected, and safe.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in hospitality, particularly in team or shift leader roles.
• A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Skill in multitasking and adapting to changing priorities.
• Initiative and confidence in improving workplace practices.
