About the Role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Barista passionate about delivering quality food, beverages, and exceptional customer service to join our Tesco Cafe team. Whether customers are stopping by briefly after shopping or enjoying a catch-up with friends, you'll ensure they savor excellent coffee, tea, and seasonal specialties that brighten their day.

Your background as a Barista or experience in hospitality will be valuable as you contribute your expertise and assist team members in growing their skills. At Tesco, customer dedication is paramount—thus, you will familiarize yourself with all menu items and new initiatives, keep an eye on inventory, and serve customers promptly and accurately, accommodating their specific needs.

Our Tesco Cafe is committed to fostering growth opportunities for all colleagues. You will take responsibility for supporting barista development and collaborate closely with the Cafe Manager. You will also engage with our Click and Learn portal and other resources to complete relevant training modules for your professional advancement. Please note applicants must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quick and efficient service of a variety of drinks to customers.
• Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards consistently.
• Monitor stock regularly and adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
• Partner with the Cafe Manager to identify and nurture team members aspiring to develop barista skills.
• Stay updated on all internal communications, promotional offers, new initiatives, and menu changes.
• Handle customer complaints efficiently and professionally when possible.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Barista or within the hospitality sector.
• Strong dedication to delivering excellent customer service.
• Confidence in coaching and training colleagues inclusively.
• Good organizational and planning abilities.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements and adapt to changing situations.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively support peers and management.
