Job Overview

Located in central Birmingham near New Street Station, ibis Birmingham New Street Station hotel welcomes thousands of visitors annually. We seek a practical and proactive Maintenance Team Member to ensure the hotel remains safe, fully operational, and visually appealing. This full-time role offers a salary up to A327,483 per year, complemented by benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel premises.
  • Undertake painting and decorating tasks to maintain aesthetics.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to avoid operational issues.
  • Maintain guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Collaborate closely with management and external contractors to resolve issues.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and compliance regulations are consistently met.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in maintenance, facilities, or property upkeep.
  • Strong practical repair and DIY skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive work approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in painting and decorating is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, or carpentry is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Secondary or high school education required.
  • Trade certification is advantageous.
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on relevant experience.
  • Service-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and able to contribute effectively in team settings.
  • Professional appearance and grooming at all times.
