Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Head Chef, the Chef de Partie is tasked with preparing, presenting, and displaying all menu items in compliance with high standards. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and its equipment. As a key figure in the kitchen, the Chef de Partie mentors junior chefs, sharing expertise and enabling their professional development.
Additionally, the role provides opportunities to collaborate as a Sous Chef on menu creation and development. The Chef de Partie is expected to actively contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance the kitchen environment and menu offerings, ensuring consistent quality for a la carte and buffet menus according to established recipes and property standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present menu items adhering to quality and hygiene standards.
- Keep kitchen and equipment clean and hygienic at all times.
- Coach and lead junior chefs, facilitating their learning and growth.
- Participate in menu development as a Sous Chef.
- Contribute ideas to improve kitchen operations and menus.
- Maintain consistency in food preparation for all menus.
- Communicate effectively within the team and respond to guest feedback.
- Follow HACCP procedures meticulously and maintain clear records.
- Consistently exceed guest expectations in food quality and service.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management.
- Minimum of five years’ industry experience with at least one year in a comparable Chef de Partie role, preferably within premium or upmarket hospitality brands.
- Strong operational and technical culinary knowledge.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork capabilities and effective communication skills.
