Role Overview
We seek a meticulous and collaborative Stewarding Executive for our Mysuru location. This role involves managing all aspects of stewarding operations and leading a dedicated team to uphold the highest levels of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational effectiveness. You will ensure smooth kitchen functioning by strictly enforcing food safety and hygiene standards, contributing significantly to our operational excellence through leadership, strategic planning, and ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise dishwashing and stewarding department operations to maintain efficient workflows.
- Guarantee impeccable cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and stewarding areas, complying fully with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of kitchen equipment, including commercial dishwashers, ensuring timely repairs and preventive care.
- Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene protocols aligned with HACCP and international guidelines.
- Train, mentor, and supervise stewarding personnel on cleaning methods, safety, operations, and performance standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning materials and coordinate procurement to maintain supply levels and control costs.
- Ensure proper waste segregation, storage, and disposal following environmental policies and local laws.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify cleanliness and compliance across kitchen areas.
- Work closely with kitchen and other departments to guarantee smooth operations and promptly resolve stewarding issues.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment upkeep, chemical usage, staff performance, and operational data.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reductions within the stewarding function.
- Adhere strictly to company policies as well as local health and safety regulations.
- Promote a positive, inclusive team culture that fosters open communication and continuous development.
Essential Qualifications
- At least 3 to 5 years in kitchen stewarding, dishwashing, or hospitality housekeeping roles.
- Proven track record in supervising stewarding teams with strong leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP protocols.
- Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, compliance, and environmental legislation.
- Experience managing inventory, procurement, and supplier relations.
- Hands-on familiarity with commercial dishwashing and kitchen equipment maintenance.
- Strong organizational abilities and time management to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Effective communication skills for staff training, mentoring, and coordinating teams.
- Analytical thinking to identify issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience with budgeting and cost-control measures.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
- Certification in Food Safety or HACCP is advantageous.
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospitality or hotel environment.
- Knowledge of digital record-keeping and operational software systems.
- Familiarity with process improvement methods or lean management.
- Awareness of environmental sustainability initiatives and waste management programs.
