About the Company
Located in Wellington, this hotel is among the largest economy hotels in the area, conveniently close to major venues such as Takina, Te Papa, TSB, and Sky Stadium. The hotel features spacious and vibrant Vivant restaurant dining areas, offering a generous buffet breakfast and à la carte lunch and dinner options.
Role Overview
As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will lead the Food and Beverage team to deliver memorable dining experiences. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee restaurant and bar operations during your shifts. Your role includes supervising the team, facilitating onboarding and training, and ensuring ongoing team development and support.
Work Schedule
This position requires a minimum of 32 hours per week on a rotating 7-day roster with morning shifts starting at 6am and afternoon shifts starting at 3pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with smooth functioning of the Food & Beverage department.
- Ensure guests experience seamless dining and feel welcomed and valued.
- Maintain constant communication with all hotel departments.
- Ensure team members are confident in promoting menu items, beverages, and hotel services.
- Oversee team performance, ensuring task completion and excellent guest experiences.
- Guide and train the team on department policies, procedures, and product knowledge.
- Develop sales approaches to drive business growth.
- Promote and communicate the benefits of the ALL (Accor Live Limitless) loyalty program.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A strong passion for customer service and experience supervising in a similar role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both internal teams and customers.
- Ability to problem-solve and stay composed under pressure.
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts across seven days.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current Director’s (DM) Certificate; candidates must have an LCQ certificate and at least 3 months supervisory experience at a licensed premise in New Zealand.
- First aid certification is advantageous.
- Eligibility criteria include New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa/permit (note: no visa sponsorship is offered).
