Role Overview
As an IT Coordinator at ibis hotels in Doha, you will be responsible for organizing daily IT support activities, prioritizing technical requests aligned with operational demands, and providing first-level assistance for hardware, software, and network systems. Your role includes installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various IT equipment and hotel-specific operational technologies, escalating complex issues when necessary, and ensuring equipment and data security in line with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily IT activities and prioritize support requests based on hotel operations.
- Deliver first-level support for hardware, software, network connectivity, and hotel IT systems including PMS, POS, PABX, Wi-Fi, and access control.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, telephones, network devices, and other IT assets.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and escalate when required.
- Manage user accounts, software installations, updates, and security patches.
- Maintain inventories of IT equipment, licenses, warranties, and service records.
- Monitor IT infrastructure and assist in backups, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for maintenance and technical support.
- Facilitate onboarding by setting up new staff with IT equipment and system access.
- Conduct basic IT training and promote cybersecurity awareness among employees.
- Keep accurate records of IT incidents, requests, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with Accor and hotel policies regarding equipment use, data protection, and confidentiality.
- Maintain secure and organized IT and server rooms, reporting any safety or security issues.
- Support IT projects, upgrades, and technology implementations as needed.
- Provide professional and confidential IT support to staff and guests.
- Comply with health, safety, security, and data protection standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in IT support, preferably in hospitality or hotel environments.
- Proficient knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft Office suite, printers, Wi-Fi, and basic network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with hotel systems such as PMS, POS, PBX, and access control systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills paired with a customer service orientation.
- Ability to multitask and efficiently manage IT support requests.
- Understanding of IT security principles, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or Cisco are beneficial.
